Hello and thank you for visiting my web site! I am a wetland ecologist currently working as a Research Associate and Instructor at Western Washington University, and a PhD student at the University of British Columbia. I am currently studying various aspects of blue carbon in tidal wetlands. This includes exploring patterns and predictors of methane fluxes, soil carbon sequestration rates, and sources of soil carbon, and the effects of land use management on these processes at a regional scale. I have also worked to monitor and model vegetation and sediment dynamics in relation to sea level rise and habitat restoration. I have primarily worked in tidal marshes, seagrasses, and tidal forests for research purposes, although my previous consulting work covered many non-tidal wetlands as well.
